This refers to skin conditions such as:
- Systemic or cutaneous lupus erythematosus
- Dermatomyosis
- Scleroderma
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
These often present with skin symptoms such as:
- Photosensitivity (Sensitive to the sun)
- Redness of the skin due to the following:
- A non-specific skin rash
- Vessels of the skin being affected (vasculitis)
- Blister
- Ulcers
What is important is that the skin is only one of many organs affected. The joints may experience pain or stiffness. There may be gastrointestinal symptoms such as:
- Cramps
- Difficulty swallowing
Lastly there are often non-specific symptoms such as tiredness and just not feeling like “yourself “.
