Lesions beneath the surface of the skin could be of no concern but if there is any risk of them growing, becoming infected or cancerous, it is best to remove these surgically and the specimen to be sent off for assessment by pathologists.
This procedure is done in the rooms under local anaesthetic with the assistance of a nurse.
